Kaiya Murphy
Kaiya Murphy is a sustainability and social impact professional whose work focuses on advancing equitable clean energy, resilient communities, and regenerative food and environmental systems. She currently serves in a leadership role within the Just Energy portfolio at Partnership for Southern Equity, where she develops strategic initiatives, manages cross-sector partnerships, and builds operational frameworks that support community-centered climate and economic development programs. Kaiya’s experience spans nonprofit, academic, and international development settings. She has led stakeholder engagement efforts with utilities, municipalities, community organizations, and policy partners to advance energy equity, climate resilience, and inclusive economic opportunities. Her work includes developing program strategies, coordinating large-scale initiatives, and creating governance, reporting, and evaluation structures that strengthen execution and accountability. Her international experience includes service as a Peace Corps volunteer in Zambia, where she worked with local leaders, farmers, and NGOs to support food security, environmental protection, and community-driven development planning. She has also taught sustainable development at the college level, with coursework focused on climate justice, regenerative agriculture, and global sustainability systems. Kaiya holds a Master’s degree in Sustainable Energy and Environmental Management from Georgia Tech and a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies from Spelman College. She is passionate about building systems that connect social impact, economic opportunity, and environmental stewardship.
