Cleaning Up and Kicking Off!
We Did It! EcoPaths Launches on Earth Day 2025
We’ve officially launched EcoPaths of South Georgia, and what better day to do it than Earth Day 2025!
The day kicked off bright and early with a run to Panera Bread, where we picked up an incredible 29 lbs of bread and bagels generously donated for our after-party. These baked goods—leftovers from the previous day that would have otherwise ended up in a landfill—became a perfect symbol of reuse and community support.
Fueled by a quick breakfast, the EcoPaths team rolled up our sleeves and got to work cleaning a 900 ft. stretch of Grover Hicks Road in South Lowndes County. In just three hours, we removed over 700 pieces of litter, transforming a once-neglected roadway into a cleaner, more beautiful part of our home.
But the impact didn’t stop there. Ten teams across Lowndes County joined us, cleaning up around their homes, schools, and workplaces. Local businesses, clubs, and community members stepped up in a big way, showing that when we come together, small efforts lead to big change.
After the cleanups, several of us gathered at Georgia Beer Company, where we celebrated in their generously donated Pumphouse space. It was an amazing moment of connection and idea-sharing, full of energy for what comes next.
We wrapped up the evening by giving the leftover bread and bagels to the hardworking folks at Georgia Beer and the neighboring fire department—ensuring nothing went to waste.
This launch was just the beginning. EcoPaths is here to spark change, one cleanup and one connection at a time. Stay tuned—there’s so much more to come, and we want you to be part of it.
